Until now, building a 3 channel amplifier specifically for guitarists would have meant more tubes, more transformers, more back-breaking weight and more cost. Modern modelling pre-amps offer guitarists a host of flexible routing options, giving access to sounds that in the past could have only been produced from refrigerator-sized racks of gear.
